Monrovia – Sudanese champions Al Hilal Omdurman have mutually ended the contract of Liberian midfielder Kindness Cole, bringing his time at the club to an end after just one season despite originally signing a five-year deal.
In a farewell message, the club thanked Cole for his commitment and professionalism and wished him success in the next stage of his career.
Cole joined Al Hilal ahead of the 2025-26 season and played a key role in the club’s successful run. He helped the Sudanese giants win the Rwanda Premier League title, making 18 league appearances while scoring one goal and providing three assists.
Although his spell at the club ended earlier than expected, Cole leaves as a league champion after making a valuable contribution to the title-winning season.
The decision to part ways with the 19-year-old has sparked criticism across Sudanese media, with many fans questioning why the club released one of its promising young players.
One supporter wrote: “It’s unbelievable that a talented 19-year-old player would leave the club without being given a chance. We all saw him at the CECAFA tournament. He’s a gifted footballer who just needed an opportunity to prove himself. He was treated unfairly by RegiCamp. He’s one of the team’s best free-kick takers and has a powerful shot.”
Meanwhile, fellow Liberian international Emmanuel Flomo has been voted the Best Young Player in the Rwanda Premier League after receiving 6,700 votes. He finished ahead of teammate Adama Kolibaly, who earned 3,900 votes.
The 18-year-old also scored the winning goal in Al Hilal’s 1-0 victory over archrivals Al Merrikh, securing the 2025-26 Sudan Premier League Elite Stages title.
Flomo was instrumental in Al Hilal’s remarkable campaign, helping the club capture both the Rwanda Premier League title and the Sudan Premier League Elite Stages championship.
The teenage forward quickly established himself as one of Al Hilal’s standout performers after arriving as one of Liberia’s brightest young talents. He finished as the club’s leading scorer in the Rwanda Premier League with 12 goals.
He carried that form into the Sudan Premier League Elite Stages, recording three goals and one assist in five matches. Flomo capped the tournament by scoring the decisive goal against Al Merrikh and was named both the Man of the Match and the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
