PAYNESVILLE — Spartacus Basketball Club head coach Wellay Baar has returned to Liberia after completing a two-month international coaching course at the Hungarian University of Sports Science in Budapest.
The Olympic Solidarity-sponsored program covered coaching methodology, sports science, athlete development, performance psychology, tactical analysis and the use of technology in modern basketball.
Baar said she is committed to applying her newly acquired skills to advance basketball development in Liberia and thanked the Liberia Basketball Association and Olympic Solidarity for the opportunity.
“This was a valuable learning experience that will positively influence my coaching career and contribute to the development of young athletes across the country,” she said.
Following her return, Baar presented her certificate of achievement to Youth and Sports Minister Cornelia Kruah and briefed her on key takeaways from the program.
