Paynesville — The opposition Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) is set to hold its first National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting for 2025 on Saturday, June 21, at the party’s national headquarters in Paynesville City. The gathering marks the first formal meeting of the NEC since the party’s Third Emergency National Convention, which was held from November 28 to December 1, 2024.

According to a press statement signed by MOVEE’s National Secretary General Jeremiah Edison Paye and approved by National Chairman Prince G. Mehn, Saturday’s NEC meeting is being convened in accordance with Article 19, Section 2a of the party’s 2024 Revised Constitution. The provision mandates that a National Executive Committee Meeting be held at least once every six months.

Expected to attend the meeting are the chairpersons of MOVEE’s 15 county chapters and 27 central NEC members. The session will be presided over by the party’s Political Leader and Standard Bearer, H.E. Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr.

The NEC is expected to deliberate on several key matters affecting the party’s structure and strategic direction. Among issues on the agenda are the review of the party’s current logo, restructuring of county-level party structures, operations and logistics planning, and the collection of membership dues.

In addition to the party’s empowerment drive, MOVEE will also host the first graduation ceremony of the Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. Women Empowerment & Vocational Skills Training Program on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Forty young Liberian women are expected to receive certificates after completing a six-month training program in Tailoring and Cosmetology.

The training initiative, according to the party, is a flagship program aimed at promoting female economic empowerment in Liberia by offering free vocational skills to young women, many of whom face financial and social barriers to employment.

“The Movement for Economic Empowerment remains committed to its economic empowerment ideology that only an economically empowered people can make a prosperous nation,” the party emphasized in its official communication.

MOVEE, which positions itself as a leading force within Liberia’s opposition landscape, says it will continue to advance policies and programs that reflect its commitment to grassroots development, women’s empowerment, and structural reform.

Both Saturday’s NEC meeting and Sunday’s graduation ceremony underscore the party’s effort to build internal cohesion while simultaneously reaching out to communities with tangible empowerment programs.
