MONROVIA — The Liberia Football Association’s Ethics Committee has cleared Determine Girls FC President Grace Weah and lifted her suspension after the woman who filed an ethics complaint against her withdrew the case.
In a statement issued June 8, the committee said no disciplinary proceedings or sanctions were entered against Weah and that the matter was closed.
The case stemmed from a complaint by Rochell G.D. Woodson, the delegate the LFA had officially appointed to lead Liberia’s team to the WAFU A Women’s Champions League qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal. Woodson alleged irregularities in travel arrangements after Weah served as head of delegation in her place.
The LFA suspended Weah in September 2025, following the team’s return to Monrovia, over alleged ethics violations and breaches of its statutes. The association alleged that Weah issued multiple fraudulent airline tickets to Woodson, leaving the appointed delegate stranded at Roberts International Airport.
The association cited Chapter 6, Article 2.1 of the National Leagues Rules, which gives the LFA authority to designate heads of delegation for international assignments while clubs remain responsible for travel and logistical costs.
After a preliminary review, Woodson submitted a written request to withdraw her complaint, saying she no longer wished to pursue the matter. The committee accepted the withdrawal and ordered the case closed. The decision restores Weah’s full standing in Liberian football and allows her to resume all football activities.
Weah thanked the club’s players, coaches, management, supporters and well-wishers for standing by her, and credited the Ethics Committee for what she called a fair and professional review. She acknowledged Woodson for withdrawing the complaint.
She said the support strengthened her resolve and reinforced her belief in patience, perseverance and faith during a difficult period, adding that her focus remains on leading Determine Girls FC and growing women’s football in Liberia.
