MONROVIA — Liberia captain Oscar Murphy Dorley has again surfaced as a transfer target for several European clubs ahead of the summer window, according to reports across the continent.
The 27-year-old midfielder is in Monrovia for the offseason and national team duty with the Lone Star, but speculation in Europe suggests several clubs are tracking his situation. Reports name Spanish sides Deportivo Alavés and Deportivo La Coruña and German clubs Schalke 04 and FC Augsburg among those interested.
Dorley has established himself as one of the more consistent African players in Central Europe during his spell with SK Slavia Prague, where he has won four Czech league titles and two Czech Cups while featuring regularly in UEFA competitions. The Monrovia-born player is rated among the strongest performers in the Czech top flight and one of Liberia’s most valuable football exports.
His versatility is seen as a chief asset. He can play central midfield, defensive midfield, left midfield and left-back, an adaptability that appeals to clubs seeking experience and tactical flexibility.
Dorley remains under contract with Slavia Prague until June 2027. Even so, observers believe the coming window could give interested clubs a chance to negotiate a move before the contract enters its final stretch.
He has earned more than 50 caps for Liberia and built a substantial European résumé, appearing in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League. For now he remains focused on national team duties and preparations for the new season, but with reported interest from Spain and Germany, the coming weeks could prove decisive in whether he stays in Prague or takes the next step in his career.
No offers or agreements have been confirmed by Dorley, his representatives or any of the clubs reportedly interested.
