Wilmot Paye Warns UP of House Guest Threat: “Fallah’s NIMBO Wants to Reap What It Didn’t Sow”

Monrovia — Former Unity Party Chairman and Mines Minister Wilmot Paye has warned UP officials, including Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, to be cautious of Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah’s National Independent Movement for Boakai, NIMBO. Paye said the group is trying to benefit from UP without fully integrating into the party.

‎In a heated appearance Sunday, June 21, 2026 on Spoon FM’s One on One With the CEO, Paye compared NIMBO to an ungrateful house guest who claims independence after being accommodated.

‎“This is what happens when somebody comes to live in your house and you accommodate the person, and the person says ‘I’ll be independent. I’ll do everything independent of you.’ Doesn’t that ring a bell? That’s Thomas Fallah, they form NIMBO,” Paye Asserted.

‎He told UP partisans not to be naive about Fallah’s intentions. Paye argued that if Fallah wants to support President Boakai, he should join UP directly instead of operating an independent movement, especially after being expelled from the CDC.

‎Paye also called for accountability for Fallah over his past role as Chair on Ways and Means during the CDC administration. He said those who worked closely with the former ruling party should not now act as UP’s enemy.

‎“This was the person who was Chair on Ways and Means, working with the very people that today are turned out to be their enemy,” he said.

‎The former UP chairman becomes the second high-profile party official in one week to question Fallah’s motives. Local Government Minister Francis S. Nyumalin told Okay FM he lacks confidence in the Deputy Speaker’s independent movement.

“I will have to use my political microscopic eye examine and reexamine the decision of the honorable deputy speaker to determine the future,” Nyumalin said.

‎Fallah spent over two decades in the CDC before backing Boakai. While he says his support is strictly for the President and hopes to run after Boakai’s era, the move has raised concerns of power-building and division within UP.

‎President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has publicly expressed confidence in Fallah’s support. But Paye said UP members must stay alert and continue enlightening partisans about the party’s future.

‎ “Unity Party people, even though some of us don’t hold any official title, we are supposed to sit down and fold our hands? No, we’re not. We’re enlightening the people,” the former Minister alarm.
