Careysburg, Rural Montserrado County – Police in Careysburg Statutory District have charged and forwarded to court two men accused of gang-raping a 14-year-old girl.
According to investigators from the Women and Children Protection Section of the Liberia National Police, the suspects were arrested following an investigation into the incident, which allegedly occurred in July this year (2025).
The victim’s father told police that the assault took place at his school campus in the New Land Community, where the main suspect, Francis Kuah, 19, and the victim’s uncle, Fayiah Sekou, had been living with the family.
He said he was first informed by the school’s Vice Principal, Ustin Wallah, that the survivor frequently visited the home of a boy identified only as Osaka. After questioning, the girl admitted she had visited Osaka’s home but never alone.
On October 26, 2025, the victim reportedly confessed to her mother that Kuah, a 12th-grade student she normally called “uncle,” had raped her twice. She said the first assault occurred in July after bathing, during which Kuah attacked her in her room while her uncle Sekou allegedly witnessed the act and threatened her not to report it, warning she would be killed and her body dumped on the street if she told anyone.
The second alleged assault occurred during the school closing ceremony when Kuah asked the victim to remain on campus and reportedly raped her again.
During police questioning, Kuah admitted to the assaults but claimed the victim entered his room while he was naked. Sekou confirmed witnessing the incidents but did not report them.
A medical examination at James Davis Hospital confirmed penetration as both suspects have been charged with Statutory Gang Rape, in violation of Section 14.70(2) of the Penal Code, and were forwarded to the Careysburg Magisterial Court for prosecution.
