PAYNESVILLE — The 2025 Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) All-Star Games took place Saturday under an electrifying atmosphere at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Basketball Gymnasium in Paynesville.
In the First Division, Team Wellay Baar defeated Varfley Corneh’s squad 76–53. Baar, who had an excellent season with Spartacus and led the club to the LBA Big Six last year, saw her 10-player roster — led by Anthony Quadri of Mighty Barrolle — dominate all three quarters against Corneh, who guided LPRC Oilers to the league championship last season.
The victory highlighted Baar’s strength as the only female coach in Liberia’s basketball top-flight league. Her team claimed a L$200,000 cash prize and a trophy.
Baar squad include Anthony Quadri, Gabriel Richards, Justin Matthew, David Olumilluq, Valour OK initiative, Adam Barduae, Bannye Prowd, Aldo Smith and Willie Brown.
Veteran player Samuel Kpanie led coach Varfley Corneh’s team that included John Williams, Samuel Sarto, Prince Chigozi, Jason Wright William Gittens, Fedolph Marshall,Blessing Nah, Bantu Weah and Austin Coleman

In the Second Division, Team Prince Charles fell to Team Edwin Subah 64–61, while in the Third Division, Team Sam Stewart defeated Team Woylah Andrew 40–33.
Winners of the Second and Third Division All-Star Games received cash prizes of L$100,000 and L$75,000, respectively.
Before the divisional matches, the Celebrity All-Star team, coached by musical artist MC Caro, lost 28–18 to TrueBallers.
This year’s LBA All-Star Experience was organized by the Liberian Creative Agency (NWX) in partnership with the Liberia Basketball Association.
