LFA ends capacity-building workshop for female match commissioners

Congo Town — The Liberia Football Association (LFA) concluded a two-day capacity-building workshop for beginner female match officials in Montserrado County.

The workshop, funded by FIFA, aims to create broader opportunities for women in football. 

It focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of match commissioners’ duties and improving the overall management and organization of women’s football nationwide.

LFA President Mustapha Raji, speaking at the opening ceremony, thanked participants for their commitment and emphasized the importance of the initiative in advancing the association’s women’s football strategic plan.

 He emphasized that the program aims to increase women’s participation in all areas of the sport and expressed gratitude to FIFA for its ongoing support.

At the same time, the LFA, through its Women’s Football Department, has completed the Coach Education Scholarships Workshop for women from selected schools.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Roseline Konneh, a member of the FIFA Women’s Development Committee, encouraged participants to keep striving for growth and to make meaningful contributions to advancing women’s football. She expressed gratitude to the LFA leadership for organizing the training and urged attendees to apply their new knowledge to help empower more female coaches across the country.

The Coach Education Scholarships Workshop will continue in Grand Cape Mount, Rivercess, Bong, and Sinoe counties.
