Monrovia – Lofa County Senator Momo Cyrus has vowed to collaborate closely with the government to ensure the construction of a paved road from Salayea to Voinjama within the next three years. This infrastructure project, he believes, will restore Lofa’s status as Liberia’s “breadbasket.”
Speaking at an event organized by the Zorzor Citizens Movement, where he was honored for his significant legislative and developmental contributions since taking office, Senator Cyrus outlined his vision for the county. “Lofa will not remain the same under my watch,” he assured the crowd, emphasizing his commitment to impactful change.
A key aspect of his development agenda is the empowerment of women in Lofa County. Senator Cyrus highlighted the crucial role women play in the community, noting that their empowerment would lead to better educational opportunities for children and overall improvement in living standards. “When we empower the women, they will be able to cater to their children’s school fees and address other essential needs,” he stated.
In addition to the road project and women’s empowerment initiatives, Senator Cyrus also announced plans to introduce a bill aimed at establishing a technical college in Lower Lofa County. This institution would cater to the educational and skill development needs of the local population, providing them with the tools necessary for economic self-sufficiency.
“The people of Lofa will not be disappointed under our watch. We will transform the lives of the people of Lofa,” Senator Cyrus declared, promising that his leadership would bring about tangible and lasting change in the region.
