MONROVIA, Liberia – Roberts International Airport Port Manager and youth development advocate James K. Mulbah has formally joined the ruling Unity Party (UP), praising what he called measurable progress and responsible leadership under President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung.
Mulbah’s declaration came during the UP’s homecoming ceremony, which has been drawing an increasing number of political figures from opposition parties. He was escorted by a large crowd of supporters to the refurbished national headquarters in Congo Town, where he delivered his statement of endorsement.
‘Choosing Progress Over Retrogression’
Mulbah said his decision followed sober reflection on the nation’s development trajectory.
“I weighed between the world of progression and retrogression, and my independent mind signed up for progression in the interest of the state,” he told cheering supporters.
He praised President Boakai’s leadership attributes and highlighted the ruling establishment’s development gains as the decisive factors behind his move.
Acknowledges Role of Pro-Boakai Grassroots Movements
Mulbah hailed the Boakai Empowerment Network (BEN)—established in 2016—as a major force in youth development, entrepreneurship, and community engagement nationwide.
He also credited the Boakai Connection (BC) and other auxiliaries across all 15 counties for their organizing power and for helping drive the president’s 2023 electoral victory.
“Boakai Connection is one of the strong auxiliaries we have in all the 15 counties that supported Boakai in the 2023 presidential election, pulling out numbers which significantly contributed to the victory of the president,” he said.
Mulbah extended appreciation to groups such as Paynesville Youth for Mulbah, Margibi for James Mulbah, and supporters from communities including Vai Town, Logan Town, New Kru Town, and Doe Community for ensuring the success of his endorsement event.
Pledges Loyalty and Commitment
Mulbah assured UP leadership that he and his supporters are joining the party with a long-term commitment.
“We are joining the Unity Party, and we are making a strong statement,” he declared. “We are here to stay, contribute, and sacrifice.”
Aligns With ARREST Development Agenda
The RIA port manager said he strongly identifies with the UP-led government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, stressing that the administration has shown tangible achievements in under three years.
“We are seeing enormous achievements of this administration,” he said, citing improvements in infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education, road connectivity, political freedom, electricity stability, peace consolidation, and Liberia’s image on the global stage.
Mulbah then urged Liberians to rally behind President Boakai and his team to sustain the country’s development momentum.
