Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has nominated Cllr. Boakai Kanneh to serve as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, pending confirmation by the Liberian Senate.
The nomination follows the recent elevation of Associate Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay to the position of Chief Justice, and forms part of President Boakai’s broader effort to strengthen the judiciary with individuals of proven competence, integrity, and dedication to the rule of law.
Cllr. Kanneh brings more than 20 years of legal experience to the bench. He previously served as Chairperson of the Law Reform Commission, where he played a pivotal role in advancing legal reform and expanding access to justice. A longtime advocate for judicial independence, Kanneh is widely respected in legal circles for his professionalism and unwavering commitment to constitutional governance.
In announcing the nomination, President Boakai reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a judiciary that is impartial, efficient, and trusted by all Liberians.
The President also urged all appointed officials to uphold the values of diligence, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in the discharge of their public duties.
