Monrovia – President Joseph Boakai on Tuesday led an array of government officials, including Vice President, Jeremiah Koung, to sign the book of condolence for fallen Associate Justice Joseph Nagbe.
President Boakai signing marks the official opening of the book of condolence for the fallen Associate Justice by the Judiciary.
The Liberian Leader did not make formal statement at the ceremony which was organized by the Judiciary and family members of the fallen legal luminary at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
Senate Pro Tempore Nyonblee Kangar-Lawrence and House Speaker, Fonati Koffi led a delegation from the Legislative Branch of Government to sign the book of condolence.
Chief Justice Sie-Nyen Yuoh and other Associate Justices led the judicial branch to also sign the book of condolence followed by counselors-at-law, immediate family members, friends, and some international partners.
Justice Nagbe, a native of Sinoe County; was admitted into the Supreme Court Bar as Counselor-At-Law in 1998; a practicing lawyer of twenty-three years before the courts of Liberia.
The late Justice Nagbe prior to him joining the Supreme Court Bench in 2019, served the Liberian Senate for thirteen years before replacing former impeached Associate Justice Kabina Ja’net on the Supreme Court Bench.
Justice Nagbe, a result-driven professional, served as a Teacher, Administrator, Lawmaker, and Lawyer, providing over thirty-nine years of effective professional services in teaching, lawyering and law-making in Liberia.
The legal luminary is expected to be lay to rest on Friday, April 5, 2024 in Buchana, Grand Bassa County.
