ABIDJAN, Côte d’Ivoire — Former Liberian President George M. Weah met with Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara on Tuesday in Abidjan, reaffirming a personal and political relationship that has lasted for years and connected their respective administrations.
The meeting at the Ivorian presidency took place as both leaders discussed urgent regional challenges, including the changing global geopolitical environment and the economic pressures it creates for West African nations.
Although no longer in office, Weah has maintained close ties with Ouattara, with their relationship often described by regional watchers as mutually beneficial in both political and diplomatic terms.
According to information released after the talks, discussions also covered strategies to help West African nations address economic challenges related to shifting global influence dynamics.
Ouattara expressed appreciation for Weah’s ongoing involvement in regional development efforts and showed willingness for potential future collaboration with the former Liberian leader.
