MONROVIA, Liberia – Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, is earning widespread acclaim from political leaders, policymakers, and citizens across the country for what many describe as exceptional leadership that has redefined Liberia’s foreign relations and restored international confidence in the nation.
In less than two years in office, Minister Nyanti has been credited with reshaping Liberia’s diplomatic profile, deepening bilateral ties, and positioning the country as a credible player on the global stage. Her diplomacy, performance, and reforms have drawn praise from both ruling and opposition figures, reflecting a rare moment of national consensus.
National Leaders Hail Diplomatic
Achievements Prominent figures from across Liberia’s political spectrum have lauded Minister Nyanti’s achievements. Ambassador Latim Dathong, Founder and Board Chairman of Starz University and a senior member of the CDC, described her as “a shining example of how talent creates opportunity.”
He commended her leadership in securing a new three-year U.S. visa regime, calling it “a remarkable milestone that strengthens ties between Liberia and the United States.” “As someone who values the historic Liberia–U.S. relationship, I deeply appreciate this development,” Dathong said. “It provides Liberians with greater flexibility to travel for education, family, and business.” Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe, also of the CDC, echoed similar sentiments, calling the new visa arrangement “a national victory that improves the lives of Liberians.”
He added, “This achievement reduces the burden on entrepreneurs, professionals, and families, while reinforcing our people-to-people ties with the United States.” Praise Across Party Lines In a rare show of unity, lawmakers from both the Unity Party (UP) and the opposition CDC have hailed Nyanti’s leadership. Rep. Bernard Blue Benson (CDC–District 17) posted photos with the minister, calling her “Big Sis” and praising her “consistent results-driven leadership.”
CDC stalwart Saye-Maye Cole also celebrated her achievements, writing, “Unity Party’s two years feel like seven — too many accomplishments. Thank you, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, for your remarkable work on the diplomatic front.” Cllr. Kanio Gba-Gbala, a legal expert and founder of the Liberia Political Centrism Movement, described the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Nyanti as “a model of visionary leadership and results.”
He noted that under her watch, Liberia secured a UN Security Council seat for 2026–2027, advanced U.S. partnerships on mineral investment, and improved global perception of Liberia. “Her leadership is a model of planning, execution, and excellence that others should emulate,” Cllr. Gba-Gbala said.
A Reshaped Foreign Policy Agenda
Minister Nyanti’s tenure has been marked by visible diplomatic progress. She has strengthened U.S.–Liberia relations, expanded passport services to Gbarnga and Zwedru, and forged new partnerships with countries including Bahrain, Croatia, and Morocco, broadening Liberia’s trade and education links.
Her leadership has also seen Liberia nominated to chair the U.N. Sanctions Committee on Sudan and co-chair those on Yemen and the DRC, pending Security Council approval — a signal of growing trust in Liberia’s global role. In a recent interview, Nyanti said Liberia’s inclusion in key U.N. committees “reflects renewed international confidence in the country’s commitment to peace, democracy, and multilateral cooperation.”
Government Officials Commend Nyanti Senator Abraham Darius Dillon, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, praised Nyanti’s work, saying it reflects “steady progress under two years of the Boakai administration.” He cited improvements in electricity, fuel stability, road development, and diplomatic engagement as evidence of effective governance. “Those saying nothing has changed are only echoing political clichés,” Dillon said.
“Liberia is steadily moving forward, and Minister Nyanti’s leadership is a big part of that progress.” Ambassador Sheikh Al-Moustapha Kouyateh, Special Presidential Envoy, also thanked Nyanti for “rebranding Liberia’s diplomacy and restoring the nation’s image as a respected global actor.”
A Vision Rooted in Service and Faith Beyond diplomacy, Minister Nyanti has championed youth inclusion, women’s empowerment, and citizen engagement through initiatives like the “Kapa Kulono” town-hall series — a platform connecting the government with citizens at the grassroots. Her blend of professionalism, humility, and faith-based leadership has inspired many Liberians to view her as a symbol of integrity and national pride.
