MONROVIA — Liberian-born forward Martin Sherif has joined Port Vale on loan from Everton, where he will spend the remainder of the 2025–26 season with the League One side.
The 19-year-old striker is making his second loan move of the campaign after spending the first half of the season at Rotherham United.
Sherif made 10 appearances in all competitions for Rotherham, scoring twice, including a goal on his debut.
Port Vale, known as the Valiants, sit bottom of the League One table and are 10 points from safety as they battle to avoid relegation.
Manager Jon Brady said Sherif’s arrival adds energy and depth to the club’s attacking options.
“He’s a young, hungry forward with plenty of potential who will offer us a real presence in the forward line during the second half of the season,” Brady said. “As with Eli, we’re looking forward to bringing Martin into the group and are grateful to Everton.”
Sherif will link up at Vale Park with fellow Everton Under-21 teammate Eli Campbell, who has also joined Port Vale on loan.
Sherif is a regular member of Everton’s Under-21 squad and has progressed steadily through the club’s academy system since joining at age 13.
He advanced to the Under-18s within two years and has since become a key player under Under-21 coach Paul Tait.
Before moving to England, Sherif developed in the Netherlands, spending time in the youth setups at Forza Almere and Almere City.
Sherif has represented the Netherlands at the under-17 level, featuring during qualification for the 2023 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and at the tournament itself.
Born in Liberia, he remains eligible to represent the Liberia national football team at senior international level.
The loan move offers Sherif a fresh opportunity for regular first-team football as Port Vale fight to preserve their League One status.
For the young forward, the remainder of the season will be a test of his ability to translate academy promise into impact at senior level.
