Monrovia — The Liberia National Handball Association (LNHA) has taken another step in expanding its international partnerships after securing a commitment for future cooperation with Morocco during the Kingdom of Morocco’s 27th Throne Day celebration.
The LNHA delegation, led by President J. Aratus Larkpor, attended the diplomatic reception at the Farmington Hotel at the invitation of Morocco’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Liberia, Lahoucine Rahmouni.
During the ceremony, the LNHA honored Ambassador Rahmouni with a traditional cultural gowning and presented him with an official handball and a partnership certificate as symbols of friendship and a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation.
Ambassador Rahmouni praised the association’s efforts to strengthen handball governance and development in Liberia and reaffirmed the Moroccan Embassy’s commitment to supporting youth development through sports.
As a key outcome of the engagement, the ambassador pledged to facilitate formal bilateral cooperation between the Liberia National Handball Association and the Morocco Handball Association.
The proposed partnership will focus on technical cooperation, knowledge exchange, capacity building, coaching and officiating development, and broader institutional collaboration aimed at advancing handball in both Liberia and Morocco.
The LNHA said the initiative aligns with its strategy of using sports diplomacy to build international partnerships, improve technical expertise, and create more opportunities for Liberian athletes, coaches, officials, and sports administrators across the African continent.
The LNHA delegation also included Vice President for Administration Varney Kawah, Vice President for Operations Samuel A. Hasay, Secretary General Haji Musa Sesey, and Treasurer Deborah Hiama.
