Liberia School of Law appoints Gerald D. Yeakula as vice president

MONROVIA — The Liberia School of Law has appointed Assistant Professor Gerald D. Yeakula, Sr., Esq., as vice president, the institution announced in an official statement.

In a letter confirming the appointment, the chair of the Liberia School of Law Board of Trustees, Francis S. Korkpor Sr., said the board and management are eager to work with Yeakula as the school advances its mission of expanding access to quality legal education in Liberia.

The institution said Yeakula brings broad academic and professional experience to the role, citing a strong record of leadership, scholarship and service.

According to the school, Yeakula is currently pursuing a Doctor of Laws (LLD) degree at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, where his research focuses on international cooperation against illicit financial flows and how such efforts support the right to development in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa from the University of Pretoria, as well as a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Liberia, the statement said.

Before his appointment, Yeakula served on the Liberia School of Law faculty, contributing to teaching, research and academic development.

The school said his new appointment is expected to strengthen its administrative leadership and deepen its commitment to excellence in legal education, research and student development.

The Liberia School of Law congratulated Yeakula and wished him success as he assumes the leadership responsibility.
