MONROVIA — The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency has arrested several women in Montserrado County’s Kenedeja community after allegedly seizing a large quantity of dangerous narcotics linked to multiple deaths among Liberian youths.
Authorities identified the drugs as “Android Spark,” commonly called Spark and Die Kush, a substance that has been blamed for a surge in overdoses across the country.
During the raid, agents also confiscated more than 200,000 Liberian dollars.
Repeat Offender Among Suspects
LDEA officials said one of the suspects — identified as the woman wearing white underwear during the arrest — had previously been detained on similar drug charges.
Ongoing Investigation
The suspects are being held as the investigation continues. The agency pledged to remain vigilant and step up operations to curb drug trafficking and safeguard communities.
“We will intensify our operations to protect young people from the dangers of these harmful substances,” an LDEA officer said.
