MONROVIA, Liberia – Newly promoted Montserrado 3rd Division club Lahai Dream United Football Academy has named Francisco T. Hinneh as its new head coach ahead of the upcoming league season.

Hinneh, a former coach of Kortu FC, signed a three-year contract with the club earlier this month. He was officially introduced on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the team’s headquarters in the St. Paul Bridge community. He replaces Emmanuel Tarpeh, a former LISCR FC standout who now serves as a trainer with Liberia’s national women’s team.

A modest crowd of club officials, players, and supporters gathered to welcome Hinneh, as the District 17-based club prepares for its first competitive season following promotion through the Montserrado St. Paul River Community League. The team finished last season with four wins, three draws, and one loss in eight matches.

“With the necessary support and openness to do my work, we will make a great impact with this team in the next three years,” Hinneh said during the unveiling. He emphasized teamwork and urged the club’s leadership to remain committed to supporting both the players and technical staff.

Speaking via loudspeaker from the United States, club Chief Executive Officer Adolphus S. Lahai pledged his full backing for Hinneh’s leadership.

“We will support you just as we supported those who came before you—for the betterment of the club,” Lahai said.

He reaffirmed the club’s long-term vision of climbing to Liberia’s top football division, adding that grassroots investment remains central to their development strategy.

“We’re observing what other clubs are doing, and we believe we can also send players to Europe and contribute to the national team,” Lahai said.

He called on residents of District 17 to rally behind the club and take pride in its progress, describing the team as a symbol of unity and hope for the community.

Founded in 2022, Lahai Dream United Football Academy focuses on nurturing young talent and promoting the broader development of football in Liberia.
