PRAGUE, Czech Republic — Liberian defender Emmanuel Fully made his senior debut for Czech powerhouse Slavia Prague on Saturday, June 21, playing 45 minutes in a 2–1 preseason victory over Bulgarian champions Ludogorets.
The 18-year-old left back impressed with his defensive awareness, composure under pressure, and smooth transition play. His appearance marked a major step in his rise through the European football ranks, following months of praise from Slavia’s coaching staff since his arrival earlier this year.
Just two years ago, Fully was playing for Real Mudja, a third-division side in Liberia. His intelligence on the pitch and relentless work ethic earned him a loan move in mid-2024 to Danish outfit AC Horsens, where he made 12 appearances in the U-19 league and scored once.
Those performances caught the attention of Slavia Prague, who signed him on a one-year loan deal announced February 1, with an option to buy.
“The 18-year-old defensive midfielder from Liberia is coming to Slavia’s reserve team for a year with an option for a permanent transfer,” the club said in a statement at the time.
Assigned initially to Slavia’s B team, Fully went on to feature in nine matches in the Czech second division during the latter half of the season. His steady performances earned him a call-up to the senior squad for preseason.
A former Watanga FC player, Fully’s market value has risen to €200,000, according to Transfermarkt, placing him among Liberia’s 15 most valuable footballers.
Saturday’s match served not only as a warm-up for Slavia’s senior team but also as a proving ground for emerging talents. Fully passed the test with confidence, as Slavia’s technical staff continues evaluating players ahead of the new season.
At Slavia, Fully joins fellow Liberians Oscar Dorley and Divine Teah, strengthening the Czech club’s ties to Liberian football. The trio reflects the growing recognition of Liberia’s ability to produce disciplined, adaptable players capable of thriving in Europe.
