PAYNESVILLE — Hundreds of students in Paynesville are starting the new school year better prepared thanks to Embassy Tree’s back-to-school drive, which provided essential supplies to underprivileged children.
Launched in September under the leadership of Custodian Urey Paye, the program aims to ease the financial strain on families while ensuring that every child has access to basic learning materials.
The Embassy Tree Back-to-School Project set a goal to raise and distribute $3,000 worth of supplies to more than 800 students across Paynesville communities.
Beneficiaries included JCN Howard Kindergarten in Joe Bar, MAGIF Foundation Inc. in Zubah Town, and Champion Academy School System on Lover Street, among others.
Each student received a dozen sealed composition copybooks to help support their classroom work.
Paye said the initiative goes beyond charity, describing it as a commitment to shaping Liberia’s future through education.
“Education is the foundation of our nation’s future,” Paye said. “Embassy Tree is dedicated to supporting students and communities, and we will continue expanding this initiative in the coming months.”
Parents, students and school administrators welcomed the donations, describing the effort as timely and impactful at the start of the academic year. Many said it eased the financial pressures faced by struggling families.
Embassy Tree’s leadership said the program will not end in Paynesville. Plans are underway to expand support to additional schools and communities, ensuring more children receive the tools they need to succeed.
