MONROVIA — Christoph The Change will compete for six prizes at the 2026 MTN Liberia Music Awards, including Artist of the Year, on the strength of a year his camp says produced a 10-track EP, a hit single, a stadium concert and a county tour that took his music beyond Monrovia.

The Hipco artist is nominated for Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and Hipco/Trapco Artist of the Year. His single “Korkorzeekor” is up for Song of the Year and Hipco/Trapco Song of the Year, and his project “CHRIS The EP” is nominated for Album/EP of the Year, according to Gibson Gee, chief media publicist for CTC Empire/Tolph Changers, who said the awards’ official voting platform confirms all six.

“Christoph The Change did not simply ask Liberia to listen to him this year. He took the music to Liberia,” Gee said in a written submission to The Liberian Investigator.

Gee said the awards period runs from August 2025 through July 2026.

The EP, released in October 2025, features Liberian artists Bucky Raw, EL Drez, Revoluxon, Nuchie Meek, Badda Bwoy and Anitram, along with Ghanaian rapper Amerado. Spotify lists it as a 10-song release, and Gee said Audiomack records nearly 3 million plays on the project.

Gee described “Korkorzeekor” as the defining record of the artist’s run, saying DJs, dancers, performers and young content creators adopted it.

Outside the studio, Christoph has been on a nationwide tour that Gee said is still underway, with stops that have included Grand Gedeh and Maryland counties.

“An artist cannot claim national relevance while only measuring success from what happens in Sinkor, Paynesville and central Monrovia,” Gee said.

Before the tour, Christoph headlined his own Independence Day concert at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex on July 26, 2025. Gee said more than 30,000 people attended, and that coverage after the event described Christoph as the first Liberian artist to draw a crowd of that size at the stadium. Gee did not name the outlets behind that coverage.

Christoph also features on two songs that Gee said are nominated in other categories. One is “Inside Outside” with Rafield G, which Gee said has passed 1 million plays on Audiomack and is listed for Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year. The other is “XXX” with T Que Beatz, Muzikal, Rafield G and King Dennis, which Gee said is nominated for Collaboration of the Year.

Gee acknowledged that the field is crowded.

“There are talented artists in every category,” he said. “Christoph should not be declared the winner simply because he has six nominations.”
