Monrovia, Liberia — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has dismissed two senior officials of the National Housing Authority (NHA) over allegations of financial misconduct, signaling his administration’s continued hardline stance against the misuse of public funds.
The officials relieved of their posts are Prince S. Bonnah, Deputy Managing Director for Administration, and Alex Railey, Deputy Managing Director for Technical Services. Their dismissals take immediate effect.
According to the Executive Mansion, the decision follows Board Resolution No. NHA-2025-001 and the outcome of an Investigation Committee report, which found that both officials violated provisions of the 2009 Public Financial Management Regulations.
In a statement issued on Friday, President Boakai underscored that financial indiscipline will not be tolerated under his leadership. He stressed that public servants are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
“The misuse of public resources undermines public trust and weakens state institutions,” the President said, reaffirming his administration’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption and financial impropriety across government.
He further assured the public that steps are being taken to guarantee the smooth and uninterrupted operations of the National Housing Authority in line with established laws and regulations.
The latest dismissals form part of a broader push by the Boakai administration to strengthen good governance, enforce accountability, and promote fiscal discipline across public institutions.
