BUCHANAN — ArcelorMittal Liberia has issued a formal notice to its employees residing in container accommodations to vacate these units by November 20, 2024. The notice marks the beginning of the company’s plan to decommission the Prefab Mobile Units used as worker housing at the Red Sea, Hundred Man, and Thirty Man camps located in Yekepa and Buchanan.
According to company management, this decision comes after “careful consideration” and is aimed at phasing out these temporary housing solutions. Employees affected by this change are given a one-month notice to relocate, with the company promising to reinstate full housing allowances starting December 2024, as outlined in Section 2 of the Employees Handbook.
Workers are urged to coordinate their move-out plans and notify management of their intended relocation dates. ArcelorMittal has emphasized that its Human Resources & Development and Corporate Services Departments are available to assist with any questions or concerns during this transition period.
