KIGALI, Rwanda — Alexander B. Cummings is attending the 2026 Africa CEO Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, joining heads of state, top executives, and leading investors from across the continent at Africa’s most consequential private-sector gathering.
The 13th edition of the forum, organized by Jeune Afrique Media Group and co-hosted by the International Finance Corporation, convenes more than 2,800 chief executives, investors, heads of state, and ministers under the theme ‘Scale or Fail: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership.’ Confirmed attendees include Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame, and industrialist Aliko Dangote. Cummings, the Alternative National Congress standard bearer and a 2029 presidential contender, is among the senior African figures gathered at the forum.
“The Africa CEO Forum is where the conversations that shape this continent’s investment agenda take place,” Cummings said. “Being at the table with the leaders and decision-makers who are driving Africa’s economic future is important for Liberia.”
Cummings brings to Kigali four decades of international business experience. He retired in 2016 as Executive Vice President and Global Chief Administrative Officer of the Coca-Cola Company, having served as President of Coca-Cola’s Africa Group and as the youngest senior executive and most senior person of African descent at The Pillsbury Company. He currently serves on the board of S.C. Johnson and Son Inc. He previously served on the boards of Chevron Corporation, Africa-America Institute, among others.
Re-elected unopposed as the ANC’s standard bearer at the party’s 2025 national convention, Cummings has built his political profile on accountability, investment reform, and broader public spending on healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure.
