We come together to celebrate the birthday of our dynamic and exemplary Minister and Postmaster General, Honorable Sekou M. Kromah, while reflecting on the transformative impact he has had on the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MOPT) and the nation of Liberia. His leadership shines brightly as we commemorate not only his special day but also the success of the Liberia Tech Summit 2025, held July 21–22, under his visionary guidance and the patronage of His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (EJS) Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, Monrovia. This summit prominently featured the Honorable Minister’s flagship program: the National Digital Address System for Liberia.
This year’s summit was a collaborative effort featuring the Senior Political Advisor to the President, Honorable MacDella Cooper, who delivered the welcome address. She set the tone and emphasized President Boakai’s dedication to technology-driven development. Honorable Mamaka Bility, Acting Minister of State, represented the President with her keynote address titled “Accelerating Digital Transformation to Achieve the ARREST Agenda.”
Also speaking were Honorable Augustine K. Ngafuan, Minister of Finance and Development Planning, who discussed the financial impact of technology investments; H.E. Aliou Mama Dia, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Liberia; and Mr. Sekou Keita, Founder and Chairman of Ducor Energy Technology Solutions and Chairperson of the Liberia Tech Summit 2025 Organizing Committee.
Corporate partner ORANGE Liberia was represented by Mr. Zaza Mulbah, who delivered sponsor remarks on the role of private sector investment in advancing Liberia’s technological landscape.
The summit was more than just an event—it was a reflection of Honorable Kromah’s vision to leverage technology as a driver for national growth, and a platform to examine how digital solutions can promote progress across key sectors.
Hosted under the auspices of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, the Liberia Tech Summit 2025 directly supports the ARREST Agenda of President Boakai’s administration, which focuses on six key pillars: Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism. The summit aimed to leverage technology as a tool for national development, promote a strong digital and green economy, and strengthen public-private partnerships (PPPs) while fostering Liberia’s local content economy.
It was also an opportunity to promote collaboration among government, industry, and civil society. Among those delivering key remarks were:— H.E. Mark Toner, U.S. Ambassador to Liberia (represented by Mr. Stephen Simpson, Senior Economic Officer, U.S. Embassy);— H.E. Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, who expressed China’s interest in strengthening tech cooperation, including potential investments and partnerships.
Over two inspiring days, the Government of Liberia, industry leaders, innovators, stakeholders, and passionate advocates gathered to explore the connection between technology and national development through a series of dynamic panel discussions, including:

— PPP in Technology & Digital Data Center
— Legislation in Technology
— National Digital Address System
— Digital Education
— e-Governance
— e-Health
— Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Each session was filled with insights on how Liberia can leverage its local content economy for inclusive and sustainable growth.
A notable highlight was a presentation by Catherine Woyee, a pioneering Liberian woman and CEO of the Crimson Institute of Liberia. Her informative session on Artificial Intelligence (AI) showcased the entrepreneurial spirit that Liberian youth and women are bringing to the tech industry. The summit proudly displayed their ingenuity and resilience, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and empowerment.
The event also amplified the voices of the Community of Different Abilities (CoDA), a coined by Mr. Sekou Keita. By highlighting their contributions and potential, the summit reaffirmed its commitment to inclusion and showed that real progress only happens when everyone is included.
As we celebrate Honorable Sekou M. Kromah’s birthday, we sincerely thank him for his steadfast dedication to advancing Liberia’s technological future.
