Monrovia – Winners Incorporated, Liberia’s leading betting company, has presented cash prizes to individual awardees and champions of the 2024/2025 National County Sports Meet (NCSM).
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, the betting company awarded four million, eight hundred thousand Liberian dollars (L$4,800,000) to champions, runners-up, third-place finishers, and individual honorees.
Before the tournament kicked off on January 12, 2024, Winners Inc. provided L$200,000 as operational support to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and pledged to offer cash prizes to the champions, runners-up, and third-place finishers in the football category, along with additional prizes for individual awardees.
Cash Prizes for Winners
Lofa County, who won the final 2-1 against Grand Gedeh, received a cash prize of L$2,000,000 after emerging as champions of the 2024/2025 edition.
Grand Gedeh, the runners-up, were awarded L$1,000,000, while third-place Margibi County received L$500,000.
Individual Award Recipients
- Most Valuable Player & Top Scorer: Emmanuel Flomo (Lofa County) – L$450,000
- Best Defender: Alexander Curtis – L$150,000
- Best Goalkeeper: Junior Yeanay (Lofa County) – L$150,000
- Best Coach: Korvy Kollie (Lofa County) – L$150,000
- Best Midfielder: Nuch Zuom – L$150,000
Winners Inc. Reaffirms Commitment to Sports Development
Speaking at the award ceremony held at the company’s headquarters on Broad Street, Winners Incorporated’s Chief Executive Officer, Alexander Stone, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to promoting sports in Liberia.
“We at Winners Incorporated believe that sports unite all of us, and that is why we continue to celebrate our champions and individual winners,” Stone said.
He also pledged the company’s continued support for football development in the country.
Government Acknowledges Winners Inc.’s Contribution
Also speaking at the event, Deputy Sports Minister G. Andy Quamie expressed appreciation to Winners Inc. for consistently honoring its commitments to the National County Sports Meet.
According to Quamie, the company has added a new dimension to the NCSM, and both the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) and participating counties appreciate its support.
“We all appreciate Winners Inc. for its contribution to the development of football in Liberia through its sponsorship of the County Meet,” he stated.
He further congratulated the various champions and encouraged other counties to challenge Lofa in the next edition.
“Today, it’s Lofa, but tomorrow we hope to see other counties stepping up to challenge for the championship so that it doesn’t become a one-team domination,” Quamie added.
