TLI Legislative Reporter Gibson Gee Among 23 Journalists Departing for Two-Week Media Training in China

Published: October 13, 2026

MONROVIA — The Liberian Investigator (TLI) legislative reporter assigned to the House of Representatives, Gibson Gee, is among 23 Liberian journalists departing for Beijing, China, to participate in a two-week international media training seminar aimed at strengthening professional skills and international exposure.

The journalists were selected to attend the “Seminar on Media Communication Capability,” scheduled for October 14-27, 2026, with support from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Liberia.

The 14-day program is expected to provide participants with opportunities to enhance their professional knowledge, exchange experiences and gain insights into international media communication practices.

Gee’s participation is consistent with The Liberian Investigator’s continued commitment to building and supporting the professional capacity of its staff through training, mentorship and career development opportunities.

As TLI’s legislative reporter, Gee covers proceedings, policy debates, oversight activities and other developments at the House of Representatives. The training is expected to broaden his professional perspective and strengthen his reporting capabilities.

Meanwhile, TLI management has congratulated Gee on his selection, describing the opportunity as an important milestone in his journalism career and a positive development for the institution.

Management assured him of its fullest editorial, professional and institutional support necessary for his continued growth and advancement, emphasizing that staff development remains central to the institution’s commitment to credible and responsible journalism. Gee is also the Secretary-General of the Legislative Press Pool (LEGISPOOL), the body of journalists covering the Liberian Legislature.

The institution encouraged Gee to take full advantage of the training and share the knowledge and experiences gained with colleagues upon his return.

TLI management also expressed appreciation to the Chinese Embassy for the opportunity, congratulated the other 22 participants and wished the delegation safe travels and a successful training experience.
