MONROVIA, Liberia – Sister Aid Liberia (SALI) Inc., in collaboration with UN Women and with support from the Embassy of Ireland, has finalized the review and validation of its updated Women’s Political Empowerment and Leadership Clinic training materials following an intensive two-week consultative process.
The milestone achievement advances the objectives of the project, “Strengthening Women’s Leadership in Local Governance and Peacebuilding,” aimed at promoting women’s leadership, agency, and meaningful participation in decision-making processes across Liberia.
The two-week exercise involved a structured, participatory, and iterative review of the Leadership Clinic curriculum to ensure its alignment with current realities in leadership, governance, and gender equality. The process began with a comprehensive update of the training materials, followed by a technical review session that brought together UN Women–trained experts, representatives from the National Elections Commission’s Gender Division, former political candidates, media professionals, and other technical stakeholders.
Participants provided detailed, context-specific feedback across the full curriculum, strengthening both its technical depth and practical relevance.
The review process concluded with a one-day validation session held in Monrovia, where collective reflections and expert inputs were consolidated into a final, approved training manual.

The validated manual now comprises 11 core modules covering gender concepts, leadership foundations, personal development, time management, communication skills, transformational leadership, conflict management, team building, strategic thinking and planning, change management, and coaching and mentoring.
Organizers say the review and validation confirm that the materials are technically sound, contextually relevant, and ready for rollout among women leaders and Peace Hut members nationwide. The updated framework also promotes coherence and consistency while emphasizing long-term leadership readiness rather than short-term engagement.
By centering on transformative leadership — including addressing power relations, strengthening self-awareness, and building collective action — the Leadership Clinic is designed to equip women with the tools needed to engage more effectively in local governance, community leadership, and peacebuilding initiatives.
Stakeholders at the validation event disclosed that the approved materials will now be deployed as part of SALI’s ongoing leadership development and political empowerment efforts, contributing to more inclusive, gender-responsive, and participatory governance across Liberia while strengthening the pipeline of capable women leaders nationwide.
