Monrovia-Charles Sagoe Jr. delivered another standout performance for Arsenal’s Under-21 side, providing two assists in a 4-0 away victory over Leeds United in Premier League 2 action.

The Liberia-eligible forward now has 12 goal contributions in 14 appearances for Arsenal’s U21 team this season.

Sagoe registered Arsenal’s first attempt on goal near the half-hour mark, dragging a 20-yard effort just wide of the post.

In October 2025, Sagoe declined a call-up to the Liberia national team, for which he is eligible through his mother. Speaking at a press conference at the time, Liberia interim head coach Thomas Kojo said, “I don’t think the parents are ready for him to come to Liberia.”

Leeds thought they had taken the lead when Chambers swept the ball into the net, but the assistant referee raised the flag for offside earlier in the move.

Against the run of play late in the first half, Arsenal opened the scoring through Demiane Agustien, who finished after latching onto a pass from Sagoe in midfield.

Leeds began the second half with urgency in search of an equalizer. Chambers found Ollie Pickles 25 yards from goal, but his curling effort sailed narrowly over the crossbar.

Despite Leeds’ pressure, Arsenal doubled their lead through Theo Julienne, who found the bottom corner after a weaving run into the penalty area.

Leeds made a defensive change with Will Firth replacing Louis Enahoro-Marcus as they pushed for a response.

Arsenal continued to threaten on the counterattack, and Agustien nearly added a third goal, only to be denied by a superb diving save from Mahady, who tipped away a long-range strike.

Substitute Coban Bird nearly made an instant impact, dragging a half-volley wide of the target.

Chadwick then forced another key save from Setford with a powerful drive from outside the area as Leeds kept pressing.

Arsenal extended their lead when captain Marli Salmon flicked the ball into the far corner from an in-swinging set piece. Agustien completed the scoring inside the final 10 minutes to seal the 4-0 result.

Leeds will look to bounce back next weekend with an away trip to Manchester City in Premier League 2 play.
