MONROVIA, Liberia — The People’s Liberation Party (PLP) has congratulated the Liberian government on the purchase and arrival of the first batch of yellow machines, describing the development as a significant boost to national infrastructure and economic growth.
In a press statement released Thursday and signed by the party’s Deputy National Secretary General, the PLP said the equipment’s arrival marks a critical step toward strengthening road construction, accelerating development projects and improving living standards across the country.
The party expressed optimism that the machines, if properly deployed, could significantly enhance productivity within the public works sector.
Warning Against Misuse
While welcoming the development, the PLP cautioned that the machines must be used strictly in the public interest.
The party warned against the diversion of equipment for private commercial activities or political patronage, arguing that such practices would undermine the intended national benefits of the investment.
To safeguard proper utilization, the PLP called on the government to establish clear oversight mechanisms to prevent underuse and misallocation.
It further urged authorities to develop comprehensive maintenance and storage plans to avoid future budgetary strain and to implement transparent protocols governing fuel provision and consumption.
According to the statement, transparency and accountability will be key to ensuring that the investment produces measurable development outcomes for Liberians.
Support for Senate Financial Investigation
Beyond infrastructure matters, the PLP also commended the Ministry of Justice for intensifying its investigation into alleged financial mismanagement at the Liberian Senate.
The party described the probe as essential to strengthening accountability across all branches of government and as a strong signal of the administration’s commitment to transparency and good governance.
It urged the Justice Ministry to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that any individuals found culpable are held accountable under the law.
Commitment to National Progress
Reaffirming its national stance, the PLP said it remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote development, justice and the welfare of the Liberian people.
The party called on all stakeholders to work collaboratively toward sustainable growth and national progress.
