Liberia Foreign Minister to serve as UMU baccalaureate speaker

MONROVIA — Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, has been announced as the baccalaureate speaker for the 21st Commencement Convocation of United Methodist University (UMU).

According to the university administration, Nyanti will deliver the baccalaureate message during the service scheduled for March 29 at First United Methodist Church in Monrovia, beginning at 2 p.m. The service forms a key spiritual component of the graduation activities, bringing together graduating students, faculty, families and clergy for reflection, thanksgiving and dedication.

University officials said the selection of Liberia’s top diplomat reflects UMU’s effort to expose students to national leadership and inspire them to play meaningful roles in the country’s development. The baccalaureate service, traditionally marked by prayers, hymns and exhortations, is expected to set the tone for the university’s 21st commencement convocation.
