Monrovia – The Noble Second Floor (NSF), a distinguished organization of law students, lawyers, and judges, has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing legal education, access to justice, and modernization of the law school facility, with the official dedication of a fully refurbished classroom at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, University of Liberia.
The initiative, unveiled at a ceremony attended by faculty, students, and key stakeholders on April 7 marks a strategic investment in improving the academic environment at Liberia’s premier law school. As part of the program, NSF also presented janitorial supplies to support ongoing maintenance and promote a clean, conducive learning space for the new academic year.
Delivering remarks at the dedication, NSF President Josiah Maxwell Monmia described the project as a symbol of purposeful leadership and collective responsibility.
“Just months ago, RH-1 was a space in urgent need of attention – worn, outdated, and not reflective of the standard of excellence our students deserve. Today, it stands transformed into a modern, functional, and inspiring learning environment,” Monmia stated. “This intervention goes beyond infrastructure; it is a strategic investment in the future of legal education and justice in Liberia.”
The refurbished classroom now features improved seating, enhanced lighting, a refreshed interior, fully air-conditioned, equipped with a modern projector, and a more student-centered layout – creating an environment that supports effective teaching, learning, and engagement.
Monmia emphasized that the initiative aligns with NSF’s broader vision of driving tangible impact within the law school and across the wider community. He noted that the Noble Second Floor continues to distinguish itself through action-oriented service, reinforcing the principle that supporting legal education is fundamental to strengthening democratic governance and the rule of law.
Dean of the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, Dr. Navada Risk, praised the Noble Second Floor for its leadership and impact, describing the initiative as both timely and transformative.
“This is a commendable and forward-looking effort,” Dean Risk said. “The Noble Second Floor has set itself apart as a model organization within tertiary institutions. While this intervention significantly improves our infrastructure, I encourage the NSF to expand its engagement into academic support and long-term institutional development. The law school remains open to such meaningful partnerships.”
The RH-1 refurbishment adds to a growing portfolio of NSF-led interventions aimed at enhancing both the academic and social dimensions of legal education. This is the second classroom the NSF has fully modernized at the Law School.
Over the years, the Noble Second Floor has implemented initiatives including student support programs, mentorship engagements connecting students with practicing lawyers and judges, public legal awareness campaigns, providing scholarships for top-performing students, and contributions to improving learning facilities within the law school.
Beyond the campus, NSF has also played a role in promoting access to justice through community-oriented outreach, legal awareness initiatives, and charitable activities targeting underserved populations – demonstrating its commitment to bridging the gap between legal education and societal impact.
