MONROVIA, Liberia – The National Safety Partnership of Liberia (NASAPAL Inc.) has raised fresh alarm over the country’s worsening road safety crisis, calling for urgent nationwide action following the release of the Liberia National Police’s Quarterly Accident Statistics Report for January–March 2026.
The report places road accidents among the leading causes of death and injury in Liberia, prompting NASAPAL to stress that public safety must be treated as a collective responsibility.
Call for Urgent, Collective Response
NASAPAL, a self-funded nonprofit operating across Liberia’s 15 counties, urged families, communities, and national stakeholders to work together to curb preventable road fatalities.
“Reliable accident data is the cornerstone of any serious public safety strategy,” the organization said. “Access to accurate and timely statistics is essential for saving lives, improving data-driven decision-making, and enhancing national coordination in the fight against road accidents.”
Strengthening Safety Through Action
As part of its ongoing efforts, NASAPAL continues to promote safer road practices among pedestrians, motorcyclists, drivers, and transport operators, while supporting training initiatives and expanding community-based safety programs nationwide.
The organization is also advocating for stronger enforcement mechanisms and improved welfare for safety officers, noting that effective road safety management requires both accountability and adequate support systems.
Partnerships Driving Local Impact
NASAPAL commended the Liberia National Police and the Ministry of Health for their commitment to transparency and accountability, highlighting the importance of quarterly reporting in shaping coordinated national responses.
The group further pointed to its collaborations with retired police veterans, community media, and transport unions as critical to strengthening grassroots safety networks.

Describing road accidents as a threat that affects all Liberians, NASAPAL warned that no one is immune from the consequences of road violence.
“Together, we can protect lives and transform Liberia’s public safety landscape,” the organization declared, urging citizens to adopt responsible road use behaviors and actively engage in community safety efforts.
