Monrovia – Employees of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) are set to receive free medical treatment, courtesy of the Chinese Embassy, as part of an ongoing effort to promote health and well-being in Liberia.
In a memo issued on Monday, February 10, Samuel G. Paye, MYS Director of Human Resources, announced that the initiative will be conducted at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex Medical Room and will be attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Liberia.
According to Paye, the goal of the program is to enhance the health and productivity of ministry employees by providing essential medical services.
“The Chinese Medical Outreach team, made up of experienced medical professionals, will visit the Ministry’s office on February 14, 2025. They will offer a range of services, including general health check-ups, consultations, and basic medical treatments,” he stated.
Speaking to The Liberian Investigator on February 10, 2025, Minister Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu hailed the initiative as a reflection of the strong diplomatic ties between Liberia and China.
“This initiative is significant, and we are grateful to the Chinese Ambassador and the embassy for prioritizing the well-being of MYS employees,” Minister Bangalu said.
He also urged all ministry employees to take full advantage of the free medical outreach.
“I encourage every staff member to seize this opportunity for expert medical care and advice,” he concluded.
The initiative is expected to bolster workplace health and reinforce the growing cooperation between Liberia and China in the health sector.
