VOINJAMA – Lofa County University has indefinitely suspended three senior administrators following an internal audit by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), which uncovered alleged financial mismanagement within the institution.
Those suspended include Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Morlu Korsor, Financial Comptroller Peter C.P. Taylor II, and Human Resources Officer Beyan M. Kamara. The action comes as the LACC investigates allegations of corruption and financial misappropriation linked to ghost employees and misuse of institutional funds.
According to credible sources, the Ministry of Finance accused the administrators of misappropriating approximately US$75,000 in public funds.
University President Dr. Isaac Podah, speaking on Radio Wologizi FM 87.9 MHz in Voinjama on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, stated that the suspensions would remain in effect until the accused individuals cleared their names.
“Once they are exonerated from the corruption allegations, they will be reinstated and compensated for the duration of their suspension,” Dr. Podah said.
Efforts to obtain comments from the suspended officials were unsuccessful at the time of this publication.
Meanwhile, Dr. Podah reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding institutional integrity and enforcing a zero-tolerance policy on corruption.
“Anyone who wants to be unfair must leave Lofa University,” he declared.
This marks the second time Dr. Podah has taken such disciplinary action since assuming leadership. In his first three months as president, he suspended three faculty members—Edwin Supee, a lecturer; Isaac Kpehe; and Oral T. Siakor, Dean of the Health Sciences Department—for administrative reasons.
