MONROVIA — Lofa County Senator, Momoh Tarnuekollie Cyrus, has brightened the festive season for citizens across the county by distributing Christmas packages to city mayors and local leaders in all administrative districts.
On Monday, December 23, Senator Cyrus’ Chief of Office Staff, Mr. Arthur Kowah, presented the packages on behalf of the senator. The initiative, according to Kowah, is Senator Cyrus’ way of identifying with his constituents during the festive season. He assured that the senator intends to continue this tradition annually to bring joy to the people of Lofa County.
The Christmas packages included monetary contributions to various city corporations and districts:
- Voinjama City Corporation: $1,000
- Zorzor City Corporation: $1,000
- Kolahun City Corporation: $1,000
- Foya City Corporation: $500
- Quardu Gbondi District: $500
- Salayea District Commissioner: $500
- Vahun District: $500
- Wanhassa Administrative District: $500
- Lukambeh Administrative District: $500
During the presentation, Kowah urged the local leaders to use the funds wisely and provide accountability by reporting back to the senator’s office. He also encouraged citizens to engage with Senator Cyrus’ office both in Monrovia and at the county level to share suggestions and recommendations aimed at advancing the county’s development.
“Our doors are open for suggestions and recommendations at any time, both in the county and in Monrovia, for the betterment of Lofa County,” Kowah stated.
Local leaders expressed gratitude for the unprecedented gesture. Salayea District Commissioner Ben Gbolumah commended Senator Cyrus, noting that it was the first time a sitting senator had reached out directly to district-level leaders during the festive season.
“This is the first time for a sitting senator to reach out at the district level to provide a Christmas package. We think this is remarkable, and we appreciate you so kindly,” Gbolumah said in an interview with reporters.
Senator Cyrus has reiterated his commitment to fulfilling the promises made during his campaign, pledging to continue prioritizing the needs of Lofa County citizens.
