Liberian women are judging 2Face Idibia for simply being a good husband. Is this right?

Why do marriages or romantic relationships hardly work these days? The illusion of marriage is control. Everybody wants to possess someone — “She’s mine,” “He is mine” — forgetting that the architect of the earth is vanity. Like sand escaping through your fingers, you eventually lose anything you fight to hold on to. It’s easy to wonder: what’s the whole essence of being together in the first place if we all have to lose each other someday?

Relationships driven by control often hit the rocks. Many people marry for visibility — isn’t that a sign of inferiority complex? It often leads to trauma bonding. A lot of lovers are opportunists, hiding behind the veil of love to escape certain realities. Eventually, they get caught in the loop of truth, and the dance of shame begins.

Have you observed 2Face keenly? Do you really know the man Innocent Idibia? When did you even become a fan? When people call 2Baba a villain, to some of us it sounds like calling God the devil. You’re not wrong, but at the same time, you’re not right. The answer depends on your level of intelligence or how well you know the living legend.

2Face mirrors the women he falls in love with. We all do — and this is spirituality in plain sight. The person you’re romantically attracted to either reflects what you need to heal from or how much you’ve grown as a soul. It’s painful that someone as “innocent” as 2Face Idibia seems stuck in a karmic cycle. But what if he’s not as innocent as we think? You must be doing something wrong to keep ending up with women who lack self-love. Women who fight you for your spotlight. Women who obsess over you to the point of losing their reasoning. Women who present themselves as a safe haven only to become your living hell. We know love is crazy — but does that mean love is only for mad people?

2Face has never been two-faced. From day one, he stood firmly with the ways of our ancestors and has been vocal about polyamory. Not once did 2Face deny being a womanizer. In fact, 2Baba has been brutally honest, and because he wasn’t hypocritical, he has been brutally criticized for his truth. What baffles people is how he flaunts this side of himself yet remains a devoted husband.

When Baba was married to Annie, yes — he had children with other women. But did he ever abandon her? She was the one who got the ring and the lavish Dubai wedding. She never had a boy child for him, even though others did. People say Nigerian men don’t joke with having a male successor, yet 2Face didn’t use that as an excuse not to marry her. She was with him before the fame and money. Loyalty mattered to him, and that was enough to make Annie his wife.

Annie wasn’t always famous; she became what she is today because she married an icon. So what exactly did 2Face do wrong? Marrying her out of pity when he could have simply lived his truth as a polyamorous man? At some point, Annie chose fame over their marriage. And just like 2Face’s current wife, Natasha, Annie allegedly became toxic, physically abusive and nonchalant. There were even rumors of drug use. Is Natasha not a version of Annie?

What exactly led to 2Face’s arrest in London? According to reports, Natasha got angry that the living legend was getting more attention from fans than her. Is it his fault that he paved the way for today’s afrobeats stars and is globally recognized? Secondly, she allegedly broke a bottle and attempted to stab him, injuring herself in the process — all because Baba wanted to send money to his son Nino while she wanted full control of the earnings from show promoters.

2Face’s former management told Daddy Freeze that he is a calm soul. Even with alleged aggression thrown at him, he never responds violently. With the high rate of abusive husbands today, how many men maintain that level of calm? When 2Face was with Annie, it was the same narrative. Annie never accused him of abuse — instead, we heard multiple stories of her hitting him. When did it become a crime for a man not to be abusive?

Many women pray day and night for a man who is transparent with his income — someone who trusts them enough to let them handle finances. Ladies, if God brought 2Face your way, would you act like Natasha and mismanage his wealth to the point where staff salaries go unpaid? Is 2Face being a fool, or a good husband, for trusting his wife with authority in their home?

Women cry out for inclusiveness, yet when a global icon like 2Face sets an example, he’s dragged and disrespected for being humble. Natasha and Annie’s behavior has given men a perfect excuse not to treat women right, because look at how Baba is being demonized for being a good husband.

Every woman says “all men cheat,” but his fidelity isn’t the debate here. Is he an available, responsible and loving father to his kids? Yes. Does he put his wife first and love her deeply? Yes.

So what else do women want? It’s funny that many of the women attacking 2Face publicly have been with men far worse than him. Let’s be honest: what Baba needs now is to live his truth unapologetically. We miss when he embraced his polyamory openly. He was at peace, and he had the joy and mental space to create timeless music.

Marriage ruined 2Face. Marriage isn’t for everybody — but love is.
