Lone Star and Paynesville FC winger Edward Daddy Ledlum, affectionately known as “Testa,” has joined Algerian Ligue 1 club ASO Chlef.
Association Sportive Olympique de Chlef, known as ASO, were the 2011 champions of the Algerian Ligue 1. They play their home matches at the 20,000-capacity Mohamed Boumezrag Stadium in Chlef and are currently 7th on the 2024-2025 Algerian Ligue 1 table with 20 points from 15 matches. The value and duration of Ledlum’s deal with the Algerian club have not yet been disclosed.
At 25, Ledlum had previously attended several tryouts in Europe, but none materialized into a professional contract. His standout performance against the Algerian national team during Liberia’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers caught the attention of ASO Chlef, who wasted no time in securing the winger.
Ledlum joined Paynesville FC in 2023 after a stint with Bea Mountain in the Liberian First Division. He played a pivotal role in helping Paynesville FC win the Liberian FA Cup, which qualified the club for its first-ever continental football competition, the CAF Confederation Cup. His exceptional contributions helped Paynesville advance to the second preliminary round after back-to-back victories against a Cameroonian club.
The winger began his career at Joy Football Club in Liberia’s third division before moving to Brewerville United. At Brewerville, he earned a place on the Montserrado County football team for the 2016-17 Liberian National County Meet. His outstanding performances during the tournament helped Montserrado County claim the title, and he was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Following the tournament, Ledlum joined LISCR FC, where he became an integral part of the team that won the 2016-17 LFA Cup and the Liberia First Division.
In February 2020, Ledlum signed a two-year deal with Energetik-BGU Minsk in the Belarus Premier League. However, he was left out of the squad registration at the start of the season after appearing in only one pre-season friendly. He subsequently returned to Liberia and signed with Bea Mountain.
Ledlum has made 12 appearances for the Liberian national team.
