MONROVIA – In a nation grappling with rising poverty and unemployment, one Liberian mother’s refusal to pocket L$10,000 in a staged prank has not only gone viral—it has also earned her national praise, tangible support, and recognition as a symbol of hope and integrity.
Princess L. Bloar, a mother of three and employee of Lenise Home Care & Support Services, stunned viewers after she firmly rejected a bundle of cash dropped near her during a social experiment conducted by local online prankster “Royalty Prank.” The moment, captured in a video that has since spread across Liberian social media, struck a nerve in a country where economic hardship has left many vulnerable to temptation.
“It’s not for me,” Bloar said calmly, as the prankster tried to convince her to take the money. Despite repeated attempts to sway her, she held firm, eventually returning the bundle to the pavement.
The incident, which lasted less than two minutes, ended with the prankster revealing himself and commending her honesty. When asked what would make her happy, Bloar replied, “If you can pay my daughter’s graduation fee, I’ll be grateful.” The amount? Exactly L$10,000—the same sum she had just declined.
Overwhelmed with emotion, she accepted the cash, hugging the prankster in disbelief and fighting back tears. “You sure this money is for me?” she asked.
Honesty Pays: Philanthropist Sends L$30,000 in Additional Support
Since the video went viral, Bloar has received a wave of support. A philanthropist—requesting anonymity—has transferred L$30,000 to her employer’s account on her behalf in appreciation of her integrity.
Her workplace, Lenise Home Care & Support Services, has also taken pride in her conduct. Last year, she received three awards during the company’s staff recognition ceremony: Professional Appearance, Customer Service Excellence, and Dedication and Commitment.
“This is the kind of employee we’re proud to call family,” said a company spokesperson, confirming the transfer.
Bloar Shares Her Story
Speaking with The Liberian Investigator from her home along the Robertsfield Highway, Bloar recounted the moment the prank unfolded.
“I was about to cross the road to meet a childhood friend when a man said I dropped my money,” she said. “I told him it wasn’t mine, but he kept insisting.”
She described the L$10,000 she eventually received as heaven-sent. Her second child—a kindergarten graduate—had a fee deadline of June 21, which had just been extended. The cash arrived just in time.
Her three children are ages 14, 8, and 5.

‘It’s Training’: Bloar Credits Employer for Guiding Her Integrity
When asked what gave her the strength to walk away from the cash, Bloar didn’t hesitate to credit her employer.
“For the kind of work we do, we enter people’s homes,” she said. “Our CEO, Madam Danise Dennis Dodoo, always tells us: ‘Whatever you see should not tempt you.’”
Bloar shared that she had previously returned US$100 and L$2,000 found at clients’ homes.
“The bossman has everything, but he trusts me,” she said. “He even gives me his keys. So L$10,000 on the road can’t carry me away.”
She extended gratitude to Madam Dodoo for not only employing her but also shaping her moral compass.

Bloar used the moment to urge struggling Liberians—especially young women—to remain honest and find dignified work instead of turning to shortcuts.
“Let nothing cut your heart,” she said. “If you’re not doing anything, apply to our company. Do something for yourself so you can get something at the end of the month.”
Despite her limited income, Bloar washes bathrooms, cooks, cleans, and does laundry for others to make ends meet.
Still Dreaming Bigger
Bloar’s story is not just about surviving—it’s about building. She revealed that she has bought a piece of land and constructed a zinc house where she and her children live. She has already gathered bricks and sand and is now saving for steel rods and crush rocks to begin her permanent home’s foundation.
“We are managing, but I’m hopeful,” she said.
