Congo Town — The Liberia Football Association (LFA), through its Women’s Football Department, has concluded a three-day capacity-building workshop for the Girls Guard program, aimed at strengthening women’s football development in the country.
The FIFA-funded training was held from October 24–26, 2025, at the LFA headquarters in Monrovia. It focused on improving participants’ understanding of field protocol and etiquette to enhance their roles in promoting women’s football.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, LFA Third Vice President Jodie M. Reid-Seton thanked FIFA for its continued support of women’s football and commended the participants for their commitment throughout the training.
“Football remains a vital platform for women’s empowerment and community development,” Reid-Seton said, urging participants to apply the knowledge gained to advance the game at all levels.
LFA Women’s Football Committee members Olive Steveson and Snamie Tarkor also attended the closing program, congratulating the trainees and encouraging them to make practical use of the skills acquired.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Georgelyn Baker expressed appreciation to the LFA and FIFA for organizing what she described as a valuable learning experience, adding that the workshop has inspired participants to contribute more meaningfully to the growth of the sport.
The LFA reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an inclusive football environment that empowers young girls and creates pathways for greater participation in the game across Liberia.
