Liberian actor and filmmaker Frank Artus says he has disassociated himself from the Congress for Democratic Change and now stands independently.

MONROVIA — Liberian award-winning filmmaker-turned-politician Gregory Artus Frank Sr. has publicly disassociated himself from the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), emphasizing that his decision should not be misunderstood as being directed against any individual, leader, supporter, or institution.

In a statement issued on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, September 29, Frank said he remains a Liberian who loves his country and desires peace, unity, development, and opportunities for all Liberians, stressing that his love for Liberia transcends political affiliation.

“After careful personal reflection, I wish to officially inform the public that, effective today, I am disassociating myself from the Congress for Democratic Change,” he said.

“This is a personal decision that I have made consciously and independently. Going forward, I will no longer identify myself as a member, partisan, representative, stakeholder, or affiliate of the CDC.”

Frank expressed appreciation for the relationships and experiences he has had over the years, while maintaining respect for the individuals with whom he has worked and interacted.

“I am grateful for the relationships and experiences over the years. I maintain respect for individuals with whom I have worked, interacted, and shared common causes,” he stated.

“My decision should therefore not be misunderstood as being directed against any individual, leader, supporter, or institution,” Frank added. “From this day forward, Frank Artus stands independently.”

He further clarified that any past photographs, appearances, statements, awards, programs, political activities, or associations connecting him to the CDC or any political organization should be understood strictly within their historical context and should not be interpreted as representing his present position or affiliation.

Frank reaffirmed his commitment to Liberia, saying he remains a Liberian who loves his country and desires peace, unity, development, and opportunities for all Liberians.

“I therefore respectfully request that my name, image, or identity not be presented going forward as representing, endorsing, or speaking on behalf of the CDC or any other political party without my expressed authorization,” he emphasized.

“My decision, my independence. My commitment to Liberia remains unchanged.”
