The Liberian Investigator Makes Impressive Debut, Ranked 8th Most-Read Newspaper in Just One Month

Monrovia — In a remarkable achievement for a newly launched media outlet, The Liberian Investigator has quickly risen to prominence, securing the 8th spot in the August 2024 GeoPoll media survey. This comes just one month after its launch on July 1, 2024, making the ranking all the more impressive. The survey, commissioned by Internews, monitored newspaper readership across Liberia, with other ranked newspapers having been in operation for decades.

Despite being tracked for only a single month, The Liberian Investigator garnered a readership of 56,000, placing it among Liberia’s top newspapers, alongside long-established names like FrontPageAfrica and Daily Observer, which took the first and second spots respectively.

While other newspapers had maintained readership for decades, The Liberian Investigator achieved its ranking after just one month of activity, demonstrating the paper’s swift impact on Liberia’s media landscape.

“The growth we’ve seen in such a short time is astounding,” said Lennart Dodoo, managing editor of The Liberian Investigator. “We are confident that with the momentum we’re experiencing and our continued dedication to professional journalism, a new survey would show us climbing even higher in the rankings. All those we were ranked with have daily print editions in addition to their websites and social media pages, for us, we only run a website and social media pages for now.”

Dodoo added, “This survey was conducted just one month after we launched, but we are not surprised by our outstanding performance. Our dedicated team immerses themselves in the work. Our readership has grown larger than what it was in August. That’s why we believe that we would rank even higher if the survey were to be reconducted today. Our journalism is service to the people, a pursuit of truth and integrity, and we do not take it lightly. If you observe, there are other media outlets – some have been in existence before we started – but they were not ranked, that tells me we’ve made significant penetration, but the room for improvement is still very large, and we will continue to deliver to the Liberian people.”

The newspaper’s success can be attributed to its commitment to delivering timely and in-depth coverage of national issues that resonate with the public. The paper extends its gratitude to its readers, followers, and supporters for driving this impressive growth and solidifying its position in Liberia’s competitive media market.

The Liberian Investigator aims to continue expanding its readership and cementing its reputation as a trusted source of news and analysis in Liberia.
