MONROVIA— Liberian forward Emmanuel Flomo has signed a contract extension with Sudanese giants Al Hilal, keeping him at the club through 2031 following a breakout debut season.
The announcement came a day after the 18-year-old scored the winning goal in Al Hilal’s 1-0 victory over archrivals Al Merrikh, securing the 2025-26 Sudan Premier League Elite Stages title on Wednesday.
Flomo played a key role in a successful campaign that saw Al Hilal win both the Rwanda Premier League title and the Sudan Premier League Elite Stages championship.
The teenager quickly established himself as one of the club’s most influential players after arriving as one of Liberia’s top young prospects. He finished as Al Hilal’s leading scorer in the Rwanda Premier League with 12 goals.
His impressive form continued during the Sudan Premier League Elite Stages, where he recorded three goals and one assist in five matches. He capped the competition by scoring the decisive goal in the final against Al Merrikh and was named both Man of the Match and the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Because of the ongoing conflict in Sudan, Al Hilal and Al Merrikh spent the season competing in the Rwanda Premier League before returning home to participate in a special tournament to determine the country’s representatives in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
Flomo’s accomplishments during the 2025-26 season included winning the Rwanda Premier League title and the Sudan Premier League Elite Stages championship. He finished as Al Hilal’s top scorer in the Rwanda Premier League with 12 goals and added three goals and one assist in five Elite Stages matches.
The former LISCR FC player also earned Man of the Match honors in the final and was named the tournament’s MVP.
Off the field, Flomo has taken another significant step in his professional career by signing with a France-based football agency, a move that could improve his chances of securing a transfer to Europe.
Despite attracting growing international interest, Al Hilal moved swiftly to secure the services of the highly rated youngster with a long-term contract extension.
At just 18, Flomo has already won multiple titles, collected individual honors and earned the trust of one of Africa’s most successful clubs. His rapid rise continues to strengthen his reputation as one of Liberia’s brightest football talents.
