Liberian Athletes to Gain Legal Support With New Advocacy Firm

MONROVIA — Liberian athletes and coaches will soon gain access to legal protection and contract oversight through a new international sports consulting firm set to launch in Monrovia later this month.

Dominion Global Consulting Group — co-founded by Liberian international coaches Naomi Esi Williams and Malinda Williams Kolenda — will officially open its Liberia office on Oct. 20, 2025. The firm says it aims to curb exploitation in sports by offering contract-review services, legal education, and athlete advocacy.

Williams, a U.S.-based executive and head of technical affairs at World Girls FC in the Liberia Football Association’s Upper Women’s League, said the group’s priority is to help sports professionals understand their rights and worth.

“Over the years, we’ve seen athletes and coaches in Liberia sign contracts that don’t meet FIFA or international standards,” Williams told The Liberian Investigator. “We want to ensure every agreement is legally sound and internationally recognized.”

Dominion Global says it will operate under FIFA’s Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, West African Football Union guidelines, and Liberia Football Association statutes.

Kolenda, a UEFA B-licensed coach based in Germany, said the firm’s mission is to establish trust, oversight, and protection across football, basketball, track and field, and other disciplines.

“For too long, Liberian athletes have faced unequal agreements that limit their earning potential and strip them of their rights,” Kolenda said. “We’re committed to changing that.”

The firm plans to partner with clubs, academies, and federations to promote transparency and accountability in contract negotiations. It will also host clinics to help athletes spot predatory terms.

“Liberian athletes are among the most talented in the world,” Kolenda added. “Sports can be a passport to opportunity, but only if athletes are protected.”

Following the launch, Dominion Global will begin registering interested athletes and coaches. Services will be open to players across all sports.

“We’re here to stand in the gap,” Kolenda said. “Our athletes have the talent. We’ll make sure they also have protection, fairness, and dignity.”
