MONROVIA – Cuttington University School of Graduate and Professional Studies is poised to make history as it prepares to graduate more than 400 students during its upcoming commencement exercises in Bong County, marking the largest graduating class since the establishment of the graduate program.
University officials say the achievement represents a significant milestone in the institution’s efforts to expand access to quality graduate education and strengthen professional development opportunities for Liberians across various sectors.
The announcement was made on Sunday during the university’s baccalaureate service held in Monrovia ahead of the official graduation ceremony scheduled to take place at the university’s main campus in Suacoco, Bong County.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies, Dr. Rudolph Bropleh, described the record enrollment and graduation figures as a testament to Cuttington University’s growing relevance in Liberia’s higher education landscape.
According to Dr. Bropleh, the institution has experienced steady growth over the years through deliberate efforts aimed at improving academic standards, expanding professional programs and responding to the changing needs of the country’s workforce.
“The fact that we are graduating more than 400 students this year demonstrates the confidence that Liberians continue to place in Cuttington University’s graduate and professional studies programs,” Dr. Bropleh said.
He noted that the university has remained focused on professionalizing its academic offerings while ensuring that students receive quality education that equips them with the skills necessary to address contemporary challenges in both the public and private sectors.
For many, the record number of graduates reflects the increasing demand for advanced education and specialized training in Liberia, particularly in fields such as public administration, business management, education, health sciences and other professional disciplines.
Dr. Bropleh emphasized that graduate education remains critical to building a skilled workforce capable of driving economic growth, strengthening institutions and promoting innovation.
“We are investing in people because people are the most important resource of any nation,” he said. “When individuals are empowered through education, they become agents of transformation within their communities and workplaces.”
The university administrator praised faculty members, staff and stakeholders for their contributions to the growth of the graduate school, noting that the achievement was made possible through collective dedication and hard work.

Addressing the graduating class, Dr. Bropleh urged them to remain committed to excellence and ethical leadership as they transition into the next chapter of their lives.
He challenged the prospective graduates to use the knowledge and skills acquired at Cuttington University to make positive contributions to society rather than viewing their degrees merely as personal achievements.

Dr. Bropleh further encouraged the graduates to remain resilient in the face of adversity, stressing that leadership requires courage, integrity and a willingness to serve others.
“As you leave this institution, remember that success is not measured only by personal accomplishments but also by the impact you make in the lives of others,” he said. “The future of Liberia depends on citizens who are prepared to lead with vision and purpose.”
The baccalaureate service attracted students, faculty members, university administrators, family members and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduating class and offer prayers for their future endeavors.
