PAYNESVILLE — Mighty Barrolle advanced to the next round of the Liberia Basketball Association First Division League with a 65-50 win over Bardnersville Dragon on Wednesday night at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium Basketball Gymnasium.

The Rollers controlled the game from the outset, capitalizing on a sluggish start by the Dragons, who managed just seven points in the opening quarter compared to Barrolle’s 13.

Barrolle maintained its edge in the second quarter, narrowly outscoring Bardnersville 26-24 to take a 39-31 halftime lead.

Both teams picked up the intensity after the break, delivering an entertaining third quarter. Barrolle remained in command, however, and extended its advantage, finishing strongly to seal the 15-point victory.

With the win, Barrolle improved to six victories in seven games this season.

Farouk Audu, one of the team’s foreign imports, earned player of the game honors after recording 13 points, five rebounds and a game efficiency rating of 12.
