Monrovia – The National County Sports Meet, Liberia’s premier sporting event, is set for another exciting season as APM Terminals Liberia renews its sponsorship for the 2025/2026 edition. The tournament officially kicks off this Sunday, 14th December 2025, continuing its legacy as a platform for nurturing young talent and fostering unity across the nation.
For years, the County Meet has been more than a competition. It is a celebration of Liberia’s diversity, resilience, and passion for sports. Communities across all 15 counties rally behind their teams, creating an atmosphere of pride and healthy rivalry that strengthens social cohesion. This year promises to be no different, with thousands of athletes and fans expected to participate in what has become a national tradition.
Speaking at the official jersey handover ceremony, Mr. Emeka Ogbaje, Deputy Managing Director of APM Terminals Liberia, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the initiative.

APM Terminals Liberia remains the largest sponsor of the County Sports Meet. For this year’s edition, the sponsorship package includes full kickball, football, and basketball jersey sets for all 15 counties, footballs, medals, and trophies. These contributions ensure that every county has the resources to compete and showcase its talent on a national stage.
The handover ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, including Deputy Minister for Administration Hon. Henry B. Yonton Jr., who expressed gratitude for the company’s continued support. “APM Terminals Liberia has been a true partner,” Hon. Yonton noted. “We highly appreciate all the things you have done for us as a ministry and as a country in general. You continue to contribute immensely, not only in sports, but in other communities, providing valuable services. Just as you have done in the past, your investment today will reach every county. We look forward to seeing our sports men and women proudly wearing your jerseys and representing their communities.”
