MONROVIA – Nadim El Hage, Chairman of AIM4D International Ltd., has dismissed recent media and social media reports linking him to Liberia’s latest drug investigation, describing the allegations as false, misleading and defamatory.
In a statement, El Hage said a photograph circulating online was deliberately taken out of context to associate him with a reported drug arrest. He explained that the image was captured during a routine inspection of one of AIM4D International Ltd.’s project sites, where he was present in his official capacity alongside former President George Weah, Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) officials and party members.
“The photograph simply records my presence during that site visit and has absolutely no connection to any criminal investigation or to the individual referred to in the social media publication,” El Hage said.
He stressed that AIM4D International Ltd. is a legally registered company operating in compliance with Liberian laws and regulations and remains current on its tax obligations.
El Hage condemned what he called the misuse of photographs from legitimate public and professional engagements to create false narratives that can damage the reputations of innocent individuals and businesses.
“It is irresponsible, misleading, and potentially defamatory to misuse photographs taken during public or professional activities in order to create a false narrative and damage the reputation of an innocent person or a legitimate business,” he said.
The AIM4D chairman also called on media institutions, social media administrators and the public to verify information before publishing or sharing unsubstantiated claims.
“I also request that the misleading publication and any related false statements be removed immediately,” he said, adding that he reserves the right to pursue legal action against any individual, media outlet or platform that knowingly continues to disseminate defamatory information.
El Hage thanked those who, he said, verified the facts before sharing the reports.
El Hage’s statement follows the recent drug bust in Duazon, Lower Margibi County, announced by the Joint National Security Investigative Task Force, led by the Liberia National Police (LNP) in collaboration with the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), the National Security Agency (NSA), the Executive Protection Service (EPS) and other security institutions. The operation resulted in the arrest of several suspects and the seizure of a significant quantity of narcotics.
Following the announcement, photographs and social media posts circulated online attempting to link various individuals to the investigation. El Hage maintains that neither he nor AIM4D International Ltd. has any connection to the case and insists the photograph being shared was taken during a routine project site inspection unrelated to the investigation.
